Does Joseph Smith Jr. Pass the Prophet Test?

The Bible gives the basics for testing someone who claims to be a prophet of God:
“If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.” -- Deuteronomy 18:22

Joseph Smith Jr. spoke in the name of Jesus Christ and God the Father. Based on the historic evidence surrounding Joseph Smith Jr.s prophecies and behaviors, when held to the light of Deuteronomy 18:22, he fails the test.

The Bible also gives other scriptures that should be applied to those calling themselves prophets:
“If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, "Let us follow other gods" (gods you have not known) "and let us worship them,"
3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer.” -- Deuteronomy 13:1-3a

Joseph Smith Jr. called himself a prophet and foretold by visions (dreams), and taught of a god not of the Bible -- “ The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's.” in the Doctrine & Covenants 130:22, amongst other heretical teachings. When held to the light of Deuteronomy 13, he fails the test.

The King Follet Discourse (sermon) is a very telling sermon, where many of Joseph Smith Jr.s counter-Bible teachings were not only preached in public, but laced together in one place. For information on the sermon:

The Bottom Line

Joseph Smith Jr. prophesied in the name of Jesus Christ and God the Father, and many of those prophecies did not come to pass.

He FAILED the Biblical prophet test

Joseph Smith Jr. spoke of dreams and visions in the name of Jesus Christ and God the Father, and taught of following another god, a god of flesh and bone, not found in the Bible.

He FAILED the Biblical prophet test

Joseph Smith Jr. failed the prophet test multiple times. Also, this is an incomplete list of prophet tests in the Bible that Joseph Smith Jr. fails, but how many need to be listed before it is clear that he does not pass the tests? The bottom line is that Joseph Smith Jr. cannot be accepted in Christian terms as anything but a false prophet.
